Vehicle, equipment and Skills
What you have, what you know, and the work you can apply for
Your vehicle, your equipment and your Skills are things you tell Zoomy Driver about. Zoomy Driver shows the current requirements for each type of work you apply for, and Zoomy reviews those types of work separately.
This page explains how it fits together. Adding a vehicle, a piece of equipment or a Skill does not approve you for a type of work on its own. Zoomy doesn’t guarantee work, hours or earnings.
Tell Zoomy Driver what you have and what you want to do
Five words do most of the work on this page. They mean different things, and keeping them apart is the whole idea.
- Vehicle
- What you driveThe type of vehicle you have, and the details Zoomy Driver asks for about it.
- Equipment
- What you haveThe things you bring with you, separate from the vehicle itself.
- Skill
- What you know or can demonstrateSomething you tell Zoomy Driver you can do. It may need training, evidence or review before it counts toward a type of work.
- Training
- Something you may be asked to completeAsked for by a specific type of work, and completed in Zoomy Driver.
- Type of work
- What you apply to do with ZoomyYou choose the types of work you want, and Zoomy reviews each one separately.
Having a vehicle or a piece of equipment, or adding a Skill, does not approve you for a type of work. They are the things Zoomy Driver checks against the current requirements for the work you apply for.
Vehicle and equipment
You add both in Zoomy Driver, and they answer different questions.
Vehicle
What you drive
Choose the type of vehicle you have, then add the details Zoomy Driver asks for. The app shows what is still needed.
Equipment
What you have
The things you bring with you. Some types of work ask about equipment even when the vehicle is the same.
A vehicle name does not tell you which documents apply to it. Zoomy Driver shows the current vehicle, equipment and document requirements for the work you apply for.
Skills and training
A Skill is something you tell Zoomy about. Training is something a type of work may ask you to complete.
Skill
What you know or can demonstrate
You add it in Zoomy Driver. Adding it tells Zoomy what you can do; it is not a decision about a type of work.
Training
Something you may be asked to complete
Asked for by a specific type of work. Completing it counts toward the requirement it was asked for.
A Skill you add may need training, evidence or review before it can count toward a type of work.
Finishing a job does not add a verified Skill on its own. Zoomy Driver shows what a Skill still needs.
How requirements connect to types of work
Requirements belong to a type of work, not to you in general. That is why two types of work can ask for different things from the same person.
- You tell Zoomy DriverWhat you have and knowYour area, your vehicle, your equipment, your Skills.
- You chooseThe types of work you wantYou can choose more than one, and change your mind later.
- Zoomy Driver showsThe current requirements for each oneThen Zoomy reviews each type of work separately.
What a type of work may ask for
- Identity
- Screening or checks, when required
- Vehicle, equipment and documents, when required
- Skills or training, when required
Zoomy Driver also shows any other current requirements for the work you apply for.
Some types of work may be approved before others. There is no single approved state that covers everything.
Requirements differ and change
Requirements can vary by area, role and type of work, and they can change. Zoomy Driver shows the current requirements when you apply.
Apply for more types of work later
You do not have to decide everything at the start. If you want to do more with Zoomy later, you add to what you have already done.
Open Zoomy Driver and choose another type of work
You can apply for additional types of work in Zoomy Driver.
See what that work asks for
New work may have additional requirements. The app shows what is already done and what is still outstanding.
Complete what is left, then Zoomy reviews it
The new type of work is reviewed on its own. Some types of work may be approved before others.
Applying for something new does not remove the types of work you are already approved for, and what you have already completed stays visible in the app.
If something needs renewing
Some things have a date on them. When one of them expires or needs renewal, it affects the types of work that depend on it.
It is scoped
It affects the work that needed it, not everything you do with Zoomy.
It is shown in the app
Zoomy Driver shows what needs renewing, which work it affects, and what to do next.
Something expiring does not mean your whole profile is invalid or that the work you have already done disappears.
