Requirements
Proving who you are, and any checks the work needs
Confirming your identity is one part of applying. A background screening or a driving-record check is a separate thing, and only applies to some types of work. Zoomy Driver shows what applies to the work you choose before anything starts.
This page explains what these steps involve. Nothing is verified, checked or submitted on this website, and reading it does not mean you’re approved. Zoomy doesn’t guarantee work, hours or earnings.
Four different things
People often hear these as one step. They are not. Each one is asked for on its own, finishes on its own, and means something different.
Identity verification
Confirming that you are the person applying. This is about you, not about your history.
Background screening
A separate check, when it is required for the work you choose. It is not part of confirming your identity.
Driving-record check
A different check again, about driving. Some driving roles may require one. It is not the same as a background screening.
Approval for a type of work
Zoomy reviews the types of work you apply for separately. Some may be approved before others.
Finishing one of these does not finish the others, and none of them is a single verified badge. Zoomy Driver shows each one separately, with its own status.
Verifying your identity
Zoomy Driver may ask you to verify your identity using an ID and a selfie. The app explains what is required and how to continue.
Why you might be asked
Zoomy customers let people into their homes and hand over their belongings. Confirming who you are protects them, and it protects your account and your earnings from being used by someone else.
What it may involve
- Zoomy Driver tells you what is needed before you start.
- You take a photo of an ID, following the instructions in the app.
- You take a selfie so the ID can be matched to you.
- The app shows the status, and tells you if anything else is needed.
You do this in Zoomy Driver, not on this website. What the app asks for can differ by area and by the work you choose.
Take your time
You can stop and come back. Zoomy Driver keeps track of what is still outstanding, and picking it up later does not mean starting your application over.
If something doesn’t work
A photo can be too dark, or cut off, or an ID can be hard to read. The app tells you what to change and lets you try again.
Background screening, when it’s required
If a background screening is required for the work you choose, Zoomy Driver shows the current disclosure, consent steps and any current fee before it starts.
You read what the screening covers
The app shows the current disclosure for the work you chose, before you agree to anything.
You give consent, or you don’t
Nothing starts until you agree to it. If you’d rather not, you can look at other types of work in the app instead.
If there is a fee, the app shows it first
Zoomy Driver shows any current fee for the work you chose before you pay. This website does not publish an amount.
The screening runs, and you wait
The app shows the status while it is in progress, and tells you if more information is needed.
The one thing people get wrong
Payment means the screening can start. It does not mean the screening is approved.
Paying is how a screening begins, not how it ends. The result comes afterwards, and Zoomy Driver shows it.
Driving-record checks
Some driving roles may require a driving-record check. Zoomy Driver shows whether it applies to the work you choose.
What it is
A check about driving
It looks at your driving record. It is separate from a background screening, and it is asked for separately.
When it applies
Depends on the work
It may apply to some driving roles and not to others. Zoomy Driver shows whether it applies to the work you choose.
A driving-record check is not something everyone is asked for. If the work you choose doesn’t need one, the app says so instead of asking you for it.
What the statuses mean
Each of these steps has its own status in Zoomy Driver. These are the words you’ll see, and what each one means for you.
- Not needed for this work
- This step isn’t part of the work you chose. There’s nothing for you to do.
- Ready to start
- You can begin this step now. The app shows what it involves first.
- In progress
- You’ve started, and there’s something left to finish.
- Being reviewed
- It’s being reviewed. You don’t need to do anything unless Zoomy Driver asks for more information.
- Needs information
- Something is missing or unclear. The app tells you what to add.
- Needs attention
- Something about this step has changed and it needs another look from you.
- Complete
- This step is done. It stays visible, and it doesn’t complete the other steps.
- We’re checking the latest status
- We can’t read the current status right now. While Zoomy Driver checks the latest status, do not submit the same payment or step again. The app updates when the current result is known.
A step being complete is not the same as being approved for a type of work. Zoomy reviews the types of work you apply for separately.
Your information
Asked for in the app, not here
This public page does not collect your ID, selfie, documents or payment. Start or continue these steps from Zoomy Driver, which guides you to the approved verification or payment experience when one is needed.
You see what’s being asked before it happens
Zoomy Driver explains what is required and how the information is used before a step begins, and you choose whether to continue.
Completed steps stay visible
What you’ve finished doesn’t disappear from the app, so you can always see where you stand. Changing the kinds of work you’re interested in doesn’t reset unrelated completed requirements. If something changes, expires or needs renewal, Zoomy Driver shows it.

Questions people ask
Why might Zoomy ask me to verify my identity?
So that the person applying is the person doing the work. It protects Zoomy customers, and it protects your account from being used by someone else.
What might identity verification involve?
Zoomy Driver may ask you to verify your identity using an ID and a selfie. The app explains what is required and how to continue.
How is screening different from identity verification?
Identity verification confirms who you are. A background screening is a separate check, and it only applies when it’s required for the work you choose.
What is a driving-record check?
A check about your driving record. It’s separate from a background screening. Some driving roles may require one, and Zoomy Driver shows whether it applies to the work you choose.
What does “pending” mean?
That something has started and hasn’t finished yet. Zoomy Driver says which it is in plain words — being reviewed, in progress, or needs information — so you know whether it’s your turn or ours.
Does paying for a screening mean I passed?
No. Payment means the screening can start. It does not mean the screening is approved. The result comes afterwards, and the app shows it.
If I finish these steps, am I approved?
Not on its own. Zoomy reviews the types of work you apply for separately, and some may be approved before others. There’s no single Zoomy approval that covers everything.
Will I be asked for all of this?
Requirements can vary by area and type of work. Zoomy Driver shows the current requirements when you apply, and says when something isn’t needed for the work you chose.
